Founded in 2020 by co-founders Lukky and Kamil , Climate X is a climate risk data provider that provides businesses and governments with the data needed to build climate resilience. By imposing state-of-the-art climate risk modelling, they enable quantification of the extreme weather events linked to climate change.
Spectra, an award-winning climate risk analytics platform developed by Climate X, delivers location-specific risk ratings and climate adjusted loss estimates between now and 2100 worldwide, under multiple climate emission pathways. It complies with the latest regulatory requirements, deep dives into your results in real-time and doesn’t require assembly.
THE CHALLENGE
To develop a climate adaption data analytics platform that provides location-specific climate risk intelligence.
WHY DOES THIS QUALIFY?
Climate X aimed to develop a climate intelligence platform that projects the impacts of climate change under multiple scenarios. Such complex software required a substantial investment of resources to overcome the technical and scientific challenges that the team encountered during the project. Attempting to overcome technical difficulties is usually an indicator of R&D under HMRC’s guidelines.
Climate X’s team have several years of experience in the science, data, finance, and software development sectors, making them competent professionals in the field and addressing another of HMRC’s criteria.
