MProve have developed an aggregator able to gather data from different platforms and condense it into a single system, providing an innovative solution to improve “system flow” in the healthcare sector. This innovative solution has been achieved after numerous API integrations and persistent improvements to their existing system. The platform represents a technological advancement in the industry, which is one of HRMC’s eligibility requirements.

After planning a friend’s stag-do felt like herding cats, founder of Freedom Weekends Mike Wood had his light-bulb moment, so made it his mission to make life easier for event/group organisers by creating a bespoke, intuitive party organisation platform – MyFreedom. 

MyFreedom allows individuals to invite guests online to pay for an event in instalments, manage and configure their parties, hide special events from a singular user and download tickets. The intuitive platform automates the execution of administrative functions, allowing the organiser to effectively save time trawling through endless websites and manage all events on one platform.

 

WHY DOES THIS QUALIFY?

Freedom Weekends developed a new event planning platform with bespoke functionality that allows users to invite guests online, utilise instalments for the payment, manage activities and download tickets. 

The development of a platform with bespoke functionality created numerous programming challenges for the team at Freedom Weekends. Substantial amounts of staff time and investment were required to overcome those issues and ensure a smooth user experience.

From an R&D tax credits standpoint, technical challenges that are not easily solvable by industry experts are usually examples of qualifying R&D projects.

To develop a climate adaption data analytics platform that provides location-specific climate risk intelligence.

Climate X aimed to develop a climate intelligence platform that projects the impacts of climate change under multiple scenarios. Such complex software required a substantial investment of resources to overcome the technical and scientific challenges that the team encountered during the project. Attempting to overcome technical difficulties is usually an indicator of R&D under HMRC’s guidelines.

Angela and Nivi are I AM NUT OK, an American and Italian couple that carefully crafts all the products in Hackney, London.

The business started as a passion project of Angela’s to create tasty alternatives for the newly vegan Nivi, who was an Italian struggling to give up cheese. Using their diverse palettes, love for cheese, and design backgrounds, they teamed up to start I AM NUT OK so they could share their delicious creations.

THE CHALLENGE

Creating vegan cheeses that taste great.

OBJECTIVES

  • Create properties enabling the cheese to melt when exposed to heat
  • Develop products with a long shelf life
  • Replicate taste similar to dairy cheeses
  • Replicate texture similar to dairy cheeses
